The Asia Pacific tourism industry is predicted to recover and surpass pre-pandemic levels by 2025, with an annual growth rate of 6.4%. Thailand’s tourism industry is also recovering, with increased predictions for foreign visitor arrivals and an expected 25 million foreign visitors in 2023, including at least 5 million Chinese tourists, based on an upward trend of arrivals. However, the COVID-19 pandemic severely affected the industry, with 83% fewer foreign tourists in 2020 and a big loss of revenue and jobs.
