Ministry of higher education prepares budget plans

BANGKOK, 1st August 2019 (NNT) – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation focuses on human development and aims to reduce social inequality while preparing its budget plans for fiscal 2020 within two-weeks.

The Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation held a meeting on the preparations of the 2020 budget chaired by Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Minister Suvit Maesincee. He said the Budget Bureau has called for the preparation of the ministry’s budget within two weeks, while the ministry’s officials look to set priorities in accordance with the people’s views and demands.

The development of science, research and innovation will be carried out in accordance with the ministry’s missions to steer Thailand as a developed country in the 21st century and help provide good welfare, good quality of life, good environment and optimum use of human potentials.

The ministry will steer four major policies involving the development of human resources and the dissemination of knowledge in integrated manners, research and development of innovation and upgrading of the country’s competitiveness with the use of artificial intelligence and a creative, sharing economy.

Research and development of innovation is designed to reduce social inequality, end poverty and meet global and national challenges through the promotion of research on PM 2.5 particulate particles and garbage, among others.
