Southern Indiana’s New Life International Supports Earthquake Recovery in Thailand

New Life International, a nonprofit from Indiana, sent representatives to Thailand to aid earthquake victims in Myanmar, focusing on water filtration and wound care training despite visa restrictions.

New Life International, a nonprofit from southern Indiana, has long been dedicated to aiding vulnerable communities worldwide after natural disasters. In response to recent earthquakes in Thailand, the organization dispatched two representatives to provide critical support and resources.

The earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand on March 28th, resulting in over 3,600 fatalities, has left many communities without aid. With the inability to obtain visas for Myanmar, Mark Estes and Steven Uhde are collaborating with local church groups to deliver supplies and training across the border.

Focusing on immediate needs, they are training locals in water filtration and wound care. This approach enables them to maximize their impact, as Estes remarked on the challenges posed by the government’s current visa restrictions. Support for their efforts can be directed through the New Life International website.
