The Thai Meteorological Department warns of severe storms and temperature drops from March 16-20, affecting infrastructure and agriculture. Residents should prepare and take precautions against storms and health risks.
Residents in affected areas of Thailand are urged to prepare for severe storms as extreme temperatures are expected to shift dramatically. The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning from March 16 to 20, forecasting thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and lightning, with the most intense conditions predicted for March 16 and 17.
A strong high-pressure system from China is causing the abrupt weather changes, leading to temperature drops of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius in the Northeast and 2 to 4 degrees in other regions. This shift could significantly impact local communities, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in the South from March 17 to 20, with wave heights in the lower Gulf reaching 2 to 3 meters. Residents are advised to stay indoors during storms and ensure the safety of crops and livestock. Caution is also urged near unstable structures, large trees, and billboards.
