Significant Update for Foreign Travelers to Thailand Starting May 1, 2025

Starting in May, all foreign passport holders must complete a free online TM6 form before entering Thailand, providing personal and address details. This replaces outdated paper procedures.

Starting in May, all foreign passport holders traveling to Thailand must complete a digital “landing card” form known as TM6. This online requirement applies to travelers arriving by air, land, or sea, with Thai passport holders being the only exception. The TM6 form, which is free and currently unavailable, will collect essential biographical information, a local telephone number, and the traveler’s initial address in Thailand.

The TM6 form is mandatory for all non-Thais, irrespective of visa status, including visa-exempt and visa holders. This digital form replaces the old manual TM6 process, which often resulted in inaccuracies due to illegible writing. The update aims to streamline entry procedures and fulfill immigration data requirements.

Gathering address information from foreigners assists in maintaining security and emergency response capabilities, such as tracking missing persons. Although additional details and clarifications about the TM6 process are expected soon, the initiative marks a shift towards a more organized immigration system in Thailand.
